Notice on the Declaration of Popularization of Nautical Science and Technology Award of the China Institute of Navigation in the Year 2023

All member units, branches, local institute of navigation in each province and city and related units:
According to the relevant requirements of the national science and technology awards and the relevant provisions of Measures for Science and Technology Award of CIN (hereinafter referred to as Measures of Award), the declaration of “Popularization of Nautical Science and Technology Award” in the Year 2023 (hereinafter referred to as the Popularization of Science Award) shall be started from now on. The recommendation (declaration) work is carried out in accordance with the Recommendation and Assessment Operation Guide of Popularization of Nautical Science and Technology Award (hereinafter referred to as Guide) (see Attachment 1). The following is the notice of the recommendation work:
I. Award setting
The Popularization of Nautical Science and Technology Award is awarded once every two years, and no more than 15 prizes are awarded each time. No more than 10 people and no more than 3 units will be awarded for a single project.
Ⅱ. The scope of recommendation
The recommended scope of the Popularization of Nautical Science and Technology Award is currently limited to books of popularization of science, electronic publications, audio and video products officially published and released, as well as original new media works of popularization of science published in public.
Ⅲ. The basic conditions for the recommendation
- Requirements of recommended unit
All unit members of CIN (director units, popularization of nautical science education bases, etc.) can declare directly. Each branch of the Institute and local institute of science in each province and city can organize the recommendation of the Popularization of Nautical Science and Technology Award in their own professional fields and regions.
2. Basic conditions of the recommended projects
The recommended projects must meet the relevant requirements stipulated in the Measures of Award and the Guide. Among them, books of popularization of science and audio and video products should be officially published and released works. New media works are small videos, flash animations, cartoons, VRs, propaganda program of achievement, etc., which are visualized and interactively disseminated, and must be original works with copyrights, publicly released on new media platforms such as the WeChat Public Platform, micro-blog or Tik Tok, and have reached a certain degree of dissemination (the total number of clicks or plays is above 100,000).
Ⅳ. Recommendation (declaration) time
The deadline for submission of materials is September 30, 2023 (subject to the mailing date). Any overdue application will be treated as the following annual application.
V. Application materials
1. The Recommendation (Application) for Popularization of Nautical Science and Technology Award (see Attachment 2) and relevant certificates, supports and explanatory materials shall be scanned and formed into a PDF file. Send the PDF file and the Word version of the recommendation (declaration) to the designated email address.
2. If the popularization of science works are paper books, 3 sets of book samples (the latest edition) shall be provided; if they are translated into other languages, 1 set of book samples in the same language shall be provided;
3. Electronic publications and video works should be copied into a USB flash drive separately or provided with a link to the work; video products should be provided with a complete set of publicly released audio tapes, records or turntables.
4. In addition to providing links for new media works, relevant certification materials or screenshots should also be provided to prove the spread, participation, praise and likes of the works.
5. The application materials will not be returned after review.
VI. Notes for declaration
1. The principal completers and completion units should be ranked in order of contribution and confirmed with signature or seal in the declaration.
2. Where there is a dispute over a completion person, a completion unit or intellectual property rights, no recommendation (declaration) shall be made until the dispute is resolved.
3. The contact person for the project should be the designated contact person for the work related to the award during the evaluation cycle, and should be familiar with the declared project, and fill in a valid landline and cell phone number.
4. Please recommended (declared) units to do a good job in the review and gatekeeping of the recommended materials.
