Notice on Soliciting Outstanding Papers for 2026 China Maritime Science and Technology Conference

All Professional Committees, Local Navigation Societies, and Maritime Science and Technology Professionals nationwide:

 

In order to deepen academic exchanges in the field of navigation, foster and develop new quality productive forces, and promote the intelligent and green transformation as well as the high-quality development of the shipping industry, China Institute of Navigation plans to convene the 2026 China Maritime Science and Technology Conference on the afternoon of July 11, 2026, aiming to carry out academic paper exchange and review work during the same period. All relevant entities are invited to actively submit papers and attend the conference, so as to discuss hot topics of the industry such as intelligent shipping and green shipping with peers in the field, and to present the latest maritime scientific research achievements. The paper solicitation for 2026 China Maritime Science and Technology Conference (formerly the China Navigation Academic Annual Conference) is hereby officially launched, and the relevant matters are notified as follows:

 

I. Paper Topics

 

The topics should be specialized in navigation and relevant fields, including but not limited to: intelligent shipping, navigation safety, marine electromechanical engineering, shipping management, navigation support, port engineering, waterway engineering, communications and information engineering, logistics engineering, maritime remote sensing, environmental protection and ecology, salvage and diving, maritime culture, and maritime law.

 

II. Paper Submission Requirements

 

(I) Types of Papers

 

1. Paper language: Chinese

2. Submitted papers must not have been publicly published before, and must be authentic and original. Please do not involve any state secrets.

3. All submitted papers must be accompanied by a signed Conference Paper Authorization Agreement.

4. Paper length: 4,000–7,000 words/characters, using the unified format (please refer to the paper format template).

5. Authors participating in this paper solicitation activity should, in principle, attend the on-site exchange; for each selected paper, at least one author must attend the conference and deliver a presentation, and the same presenter is limited to reporting only one paper.

 

(II) Submission Method

 

1. For paper solicitation, the full text of the Chinese verision (please refer to the paper format template; see Appendix 1 for details), the Paper Information Registration Form (see Appendix 2), and the Conference Paper Copyright Agreement (Appendix 3) shall be submitted to the email address of a local navigation society or a professional committee of China Institute of Navigation (hereinafter referred to as the “recommending institution”; see Appendix 4 for contact details).

2. The same paper may be submitted to only one recommending institution. Each recommending institution shall be responsible for mobilization and organization, solicitation, and preliminary review, and shall strictly control paper quality, and submit written materials on the overall status of the solicitation, the review process, participating experts, review comments, and conclusions to the Institute.

3. For papers that have been accepted by China Navigation and Navigation Technology but have not yet been published, the first author shall send the full text of the Chinese version (please refer to the paper format template) and the Paper Information Registration Form (see Appendix 2) to [guoweihua@cinnet.cn](mailto:guoweihua@cinnet.cn), with the email subject line “Submission to 2026 China Maritime Science and Technology Conference + Manuscript Number”.

 

III. Paper Selection

 

(I) Second-round Review

 

The Secretariat of the Institute will organize the second-round review based on the paper recommendations. Papers passing the second-round review will be invited to participate in the paper exchange activities of 2026 China Maritime Science and Technology Conference to be held in Yangzhou on July 9, as well as China Maritime Science and Technology Conference to be convened on the afternoon of July 11 (the specific time shall be subject to the formal notice).

 

(II) Exchange and Recommendation

 

Invited authors may deliver presentations and engage in exchanges during 2026 China Maritime Science and Technology Conference. Upon review by the Conference Expert Committee, the Annual Papers, Recommended Papers, and Conference Papers of 2026 China Maritime Science and Technology Conference will be selected, and relevant certificates will be awarded.

Unpublished papers will be recommended, on a merit basis, for priority publication in China Navigation and Navigation Technology.

IV. Timeline

Paper submission opens: Upon release of this notice

Paper submission deadline: May 15, 2026

Deadline for recommending bodies to submit selected papers for review: May 31, 2026

Notification of acceptance and conference registration period: Mid-to-late June 2026

V. Additional Information

(1) Recommending bodies shall actively promote this call for papers within their respective regions and professional domains, with particular emphasis on engaging key institutions and fostering author networks. The quantity, quality, and conference participation outcomes of recommended papers will serve as bonus criteria in the annual performance evaluation of recommending bodies.

(2) The collection and recommendation process must be conducted with rigorous quality control and standardized procedures, adhering to the principles of fairness, impartiality, and transparency. Strict measures shall be taken against academic misconduct. A recusal system for review experts must be strictly observed.
