China Institute of Navigation Held the Training Session of 2022 on the Declaration and Evaluation of Achievements in Navigational Technology Award

In order to help all units understand the requirements of the "Science and Technology Achievement Evaluation and Reward Measures of the China Institute of Navigation" and "Implementation Measures of the Science and Technology Achievement Evaluation of the China Institute of Navigation", and guide declaration and evaluation of the Navigational technology Award, the China Institute of Navigation (CIN) organized a training meeting on April 16. The meeting was presided over by Liu Shun, deputy secretary general. More than 100 science and technology managers and project researchers from more than 30 units in the national maritime field attended the training session online.

Zhang Baochen, executive vice president of the CIN, introduced the general requirements for science and technology awards and achievements evaluation of this year. He said, first of all, sci-tech workers should follow the requirements of "high level of sci-tech self-reliance and self-improvement" proposed by general secretary Xi Jinping, so that sci- tech achievements can better serve the scientific and technological development, progress and innovation. Secondly, we should adhere to the three principles of grasping the essence, emphasizing the standard and focusing on the effect. Thirdly, we should adhere to the correct guidance, strengthen the academic building, strictly observe the bottom line of morality. Fourthly, science and technology awards should serve to promote the development of industry, serve the innovation of Marine science and technology more effectively, and serve the high level of self-reliance with higher quality.

During the meeting, Hu Ya'an, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of Nanjing Waterborne Transport Research Institute, shared the experience of applying for science and Technology Progress Award and invention Award and achievement evaluation with examples of winning projects.  Zhang Huaqing, vice president of Tianjin Research Institute for Water Transport Engine, and Zhu Jianhua, vice president of Waterborne Transport Research Institute of Ministry of Transport, introduced respectively the meaning of scientific and technological innovation and the requirements of scientific and technological innovation points with the examples of tech progress, technological invention and major engineering projects and the examples of social welfare as well as soft science projects.
