Notice on the Declaration of National Popularization of Nautical Science Education Bases

All relevant units:
In order to enrich the type of popularization of nautical science education bases, improve the quality and level of popularization of science services, and continuously meet the multi-level and diversified popularization of science needs of the public, it is decided to carry out the declaration of national popularization of nautical science education bases according to the Measures for Management of the Popularization of Nautical Science Education Bases of the CIN (see Attachment 1, hereinafter referred to as Measures). Relevant matters are hereby notified as follows:
I. Declaring objects
1. National education bases for nautical science popularization, mainly refer to the venues, facilities or places open to the society and the public with the functions of education, communication and popularization of marine science and technology relying on teaching, scientific research, production and service institutions. All universities, exhibition halls, scientific research institutes, enterprises and public institutions that meet the scope of Chapter 2 and conditions of Chapter 3 of the Measures can declare.
2. The declaring unit (or supporting unit) must be a unit member of the CIN. Non-member units can apply for membership first and prepare the declaration materials of popularization of science education bases at the same time.

Ⅱ. The recommended requirements
1. The member units of the CIN, the provincial Institute of Navigation all over the country and the branches of the Institute can be the recommended units of the national education bases for nautical science popularization, and are responsible for organizing the qualified units in their own systems, professional fields or regions to actively declare the popularization of nautical science education bases.
2. All recommending units are requested to deploy carefully, organize the declaration of qualified bases in the system, professional field and region, and recommend the best fit.
Ⅲ. Declaration method
Each applicant shall log in the official website of CIN for online declaration. Download the corresponding form, fill in and stamp it, and upload the electronic version.

The materials to be prepared include (form templates can be downloaded from the declaration system):
1. The Declaration Form of Popularization of Nautical Science Education Bases of CIN;
2. Basic Information Form of Specialized (Part-time) Staff of Popularization of Nautical Science;
3. Declaration Report of Popularization of Nautical Science Education Bases;
4. Photos of the appearance of the base (JPG format, larger than 1Mb);
5. Systems for Management of Popularization of Science and other supporting materials, etc.
Ⅳ. Acceptance and recognition
1. In accordance with the Measures, our Institute will organize experts to review the data and make a spot check of each declaration base to determine the recommended list of the national popularization of nautical science education bases.
2. It shall be publicized to the society after deliberation by the Office Meeting of Directors of the Institute. After deliberation and approval by the administrative committee or the executive administrative committee, the Institute shall identify and name national “Popularization of Nautical Science Education Bases” and issue a certificate and plaque.
3. The name of the national popularization of nautical science education bases shall be valid for 5 years.
V. Other matters
1. The applicant shall actively contact the recommending units, understand the relevant requirements, improve the popularization of science according to the Measures, formulate the popularization of science work plan and relevant management system, actively organize and plan various activities of popularization of science, and expand the function of popularization of science.
2. The Institute will organize mid-term assessment and evaluation in due course within the valid period of the base naming, and bases that fail to pass the assessment will be ordered to rectify. Those that fail to pass the final assessment will not continue to be named as popularization of nautical science education bases.
VI. Declaration time
The deadline for declaration of this batch of popularization of nautical science education bases is May 31. Please log in the official website of CIN to make online declaration in time.
