Notice on the Submission of the Work Summary for 2021 and the Key Work Pan for 2022 of Marine Science Popularization Education Base of CIN

All marine science popularization education bases of CIN:

In order to enhance the capability of science popularization for all bases, coordinate the deployment of science popularization activities throughout the year, channel more industry insiders to participate in and support science popularization, and keep science education bases of CIN developing in a sustainable and healthy way, according to the Administrative Measures of Marine Science Popularization Education Base of CIN( hereinafter referred to as the Administrative Measures), each base is requested to make arrangements for the summary of science popularization work in 2021 and the plan of science popularization activities in 2022 timely. Relevant matters are now notified as follows:

1.Contents of submission

1.1 Work summary for key science popularization in 2021

i. Annual key science popularization activities;

ii. The output of science popularization resources, including but not limited to science popularization books, journals, videos, exhibitions and other creative outputs;

iii. The development of science and technology volunteer services, including but not limited to the number of registered volunteers, the number of service activities, the length of time and other basic information and effectiveness.

iv. Acquired awards related to science popularization;

v. Problems at work, and relevant suggestions to enhance CIN's capacity of science popularization;

1.2 Work plans for key science popularization activities in 2022

i. Ideas for science popularization in 2022

ii. Give priority to the illustration of the plans and related arrangements of activities carried out at the national level, such as National Science and Technology Week (the third week of May), National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day (May 12), National Science and Technology Workers' Day (May 30), Maritime Day of China (July 11), National Science Popularization Day (the third week of September), etc.

iii. The 2022 celebration activities of Maritime Day of China will be held in Dalian, and the "National Maritime Popular Science Week" will be organized during that period (7.10-16). All bases, especially those in and around Dalian, should focus on planning activities for National Maritime Science Popularization Week. They need to combine with the actual work and organize open weeks of bases and Nautical culture into the campus and other forms of diversified, content-rich science popularization activities.

iv. Arrangements for carrying out regular or emergency popular science activities in this field, including the activity’s proposed name, time, place, the number of participants, etc.

v. In order to strengthen the promotion of popular science activities, please provide information on new media platforms of the base, including but not limited to the official website, WeChat official account, Weibo, Tik Tok etc.

vi. At the same time, submit the Typical Cases of Base Brand Science Popularization Activities in 2021 (no more than 600 words, please provide images or pictures of typical cases, combined with a brief text description. The picture’s format should be JPG, with resolution no less than 300dpi, size no less than 1M). CIN will select excellent ones to promote and publicize on the official website, WeChat official account of marine popular science, China science communication APP and other platforms to strengthen the display and exchange of science popularization activities for bases.

2.Submission requirements and notes

i. All education bases are requested to attach importance to the submission. The features and effectiveness of the activities should be highlighted.

ii. The data in the submitted materials should be informative, reliable and accurate;

iii. Please submit the materials above with the official seal (PDF version) and word version of the materials above together to the designated contact email address before Jan 31, 2022. The file name should be "Base Name + Contact Person + Mobile Phone Number".
