CIN’S Notice on 2020 National Science Popularization Day by Six Departments

Education bases for science popularization, branch institutions, local navigation institutes and units concerned,
China Association of Science of Technology (CAST) organize and undertake activities on 2020 National Science Popularization Day together with relevant units including Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, National Health Commission and Ministry of Emergency Management. The purpose of the activities is to thoroughly implement Xi Jinping's Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, the spirits of the Nineteenth CPC National Congress and the Second, Third as well as Fourth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth CPC Central Committee, promote the scientific spirit, popularize scientific knowledge, fully demonstrate the significant role of science progress to achieve a moderately prosperous society in all respects, win the anti-poverty war, meet the needs of the people's good life, promote the science popularization working mechanism in both peacetime and wartime, create a good atmosphere of teaching, loveing, learningand applying science.
The theme of 2020 National Science Popularization Day is to secure a decisive victory in “building a moderately prosperous society in all respects” and to practice “science and technology serves the people”. The popularization activities will be performed in all places across China on September 19-25. All departments can propose activities with sub-themes based on the national activities theme and work, with publicity activities throughout the year. The activity notice is forwarded and the relevant requirements of 2020 popularization activities organized and promoted by CIN are as follows.
Ⅰ. Requirements on filling in
1. All units are required to participate in and implement relevant activities in accordance with the notice and your own characteristics , and log the Website of National Science Popularization Day (www.kepuri.org) or China Science Communication client (https://url.cn/5GXxUrC) and fill in activity information.
2. Make full use of intermediary like network and new media, promote the publicity activities and more public participation of National Science Popularization Day, expand the benefits and influence of the activities.
3. Encourage activity organizing units release in advance information to society, so that the public can query, participate in the activities and feedback evaluation. All kinds of online and offline science popularization activities must be marked in an appropriate way "2020 National Science Popularization Day activities".
4. Activity organizing units should timely supplement and improve the information and progress of the activities before October 9, 2020, including pictures and videos, links to news reports, etc, through the National Science Popularization Day websit or China Science Communication Client.. The websites of network activities, for instance, should be given in order that the National Science Popularization Day website operators can cooperate with units to further report to the society.
5. Submit the summary materials of National Science Popularization Day activities to the National Science Day website by October 16, 2020.
6. CIN will complete the recommendation of excellent organizational units and activities on the National Science Day website before October 23 according to the requirements of the notice.
Ⅱ. Filling in procedures
- All units can register accounts on the website of "2020 National Science Popularization Day" (www.kepuri.org). CIN's exclusive account can be used to log in directly.

2. After logging in, click on "Publish Activities" in the upper right corner and fill in according to the requirements. (filled in Activities must be submitted between August 3 to September 25, 2020, overdue filling in activities will not be able to submit)
3. There are three types of activities: online, offline or both. Fill in the corresponding activity information according to the different types of activities, and the items marked with * are requested to fill in .
4. National focal units (required item) refers to the units mobilized and verified by higher –level units of this activity, and please select the type of "national institute" , input "China Institute of Navigation" and click on search to complete the filling.
5. After the filling is completed, the activity QR code will generate ,which can be downloaded for the public to scan, to clock in for the activity, to give likes and to make comments. Please send the QR code to CIN, which in turn will be publicized on the official website, WeChat official account and microblog.
6. Units supplement the information and progress of the activities before October 9, 2020, upload pictures, videos and links to news reports, etc., submit the summary materials of the Popularization Day activities before October 16.
