On December 26, the 2024 Changjiang Shipping Work Conference was held in Wuhan, Hubei Province. Fu Xuyin, Member of CPC Leadership Group, Vice Minister of Ministry of Transport, attended the meeting via video and delivered a speech. He emphasized that Changjiang Shipping workers must further study and implement the gist of General Secretary Xi's speech, diligently implement the deployment requirements of the Party Group of the Ministry, deeply promote the high-quality development of Changjiang shipping, and make greater contributions to accelerating building China’ s strength in transport and striving to be a pioneer in Chinese path to modernization.
Fu Xuyin fully affirmed the achievements of Changjiang Shipping in 2023 and made requirements for the work in 2024. He stressed that Changjiang Shipping should thoroughly implement the deployment of the 2024 National Transportation Work Conference, play a greater role in serving the national strategy and building a new development pattern, take the lead and serve as an example in accelerating the pilot demonstration of building China into a country with a strong transport industry, achieve higher improvement in promoting high-quality development, and make greater achievements in building Changjiang shipping that satisfies the needs of the people.
Fu Xuyin ordered the Changjiang Shipping to seize the opportunity for speeding up development, enhance its service and support capacity for national strategies and economic and social development along the river. The Changjiang Shipping should fully leverage its comparative strengths in water transport, give better play to its role in the comprehensive transportation system, drive its shift in safety management toward a model of prevention, and make tangible efforts to ensure social order and stability. Fu also called for primary consideration to prioritizing eco-environmental progress and pursuing green development, accelerating green and low-carbon transformation. The Changjiang Shipping must adhere to the principles of innovation-driven, advance the construction of a smart Yangtze River system; strengthen the research on major issues and effectively play the role of advisors and assistants; insist on coordinated integration, further foster synergy for high-quality development of Changjiang Shipping. The Changjiang Shipping must strengthen Party building, improve Party conduct, ensure clean government, and further enhance the political and leadership capabilitiesfor duties and responsibilities.
Liu Liang, Director of Changjiang River Administration of Navigation Affairs, Ministry of Transport, gave a work report. Miao Changwen, the Party Secretary, presided over the conference and made a concluding speech.
