More Than Hundred Registered Ship Surveyors Compete in Wuhan

The second National Ship Inspection Skills Competition was successfully held from June 16th to 17th, in Wuhan, Hubei Province. 122 registered ship surveyors from 31 teams representing ship inspection agencies across the country, including the China Classification Society, participated in the competition. After intense competition, 15 people won first prize, 28 people received second prize, and 40 people came in third. This competition had a strong emphasis on practicality, professionalism, and competitiveness, making it the highest-standard, largest-scale, most fruitful, and widest influential professional skills competition in the ship inspection industry in China.

The competition adopted a format of preliminary round and final rounds with the theme “Skills Competition, Strengthening Professionalism, Promoting High-quality Development of Ship Inspection, and Contributing to the Construction of a Strong Transportation Nation”. It included two categories of competition: domestic transport vessels and domestic fishing vessels. The goal was to promote the recognition of skilled ship surveyors who excel in their field and enhance the level of ship inspection in China, ultimately ensuring the inherent safety of water transportation. The competition was undertaken by the Changjiang Maritime Safety Administration, and sponsored by the Maritime Safety Administration of the Ministry of Transport and the National Committee of the Chinese Seamen & Construction Workers’ Union.

On the day of the final round, the list of winners of the second "Searching for the Most Beautiful Ship Surveyor" was announced. Fifteen individuals, including Ma Bo, who work on the front lines of ship inspection, were honored with the title of “Most Beautiful Ship Surveyor”.

This competition is an important initiative for the maritime industry to deeply study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. It is also a practical implementation of the strategies to build a strong power in talent and transport. By promoting learning through competition and combining learning with competition, the competition enhanced the capabilities and levels of ship inspection work, and encouraged workers to actively engage in practical activities.
