On August 26, Li Xiaopeng, Minister of the Ministry of Transport, presided over a ministerial member meeting to convey the relevant spirit of the CPC Central Committee, and study how to accelerate the development of modern international logistics supply chain.
The meeting stressed the need to thoroughly study and understand the spirit of the important speech made by General Secretary Xi Jinping at the symposium on solidly promoting the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, accelerate the re-construction of a modern comprehensive transport system, build integrated facilities and service networks, and strive to build a pilot area for high-quality development of transportation. We should give better play to the basic, pilot, strategic and service-oriented role of transport, strengthen its foundation, and improve the connectivity of transport infrastructure. We should smooth circulation, improve circulation efficiency and network efficiency, and reduce logistics costs. We should promote innovation and encourage the development of new technologies, new business forms and models. We should open wider to the outside world, strengthen international cooperation, achieve mutual benefits and win-win results, keep the bottom line to ensure the import and export of goods, and be a good pioneer in supporting and serving the new development pattern. In accordance with the requirements for stability on the six fronts (ensure stability in employment, financial operations, foreign trade, foreign investment, domestic investment, and expectations) and security in the six areas （ensure security in job, basic living needs, operations of market entities, food and energy security, stable industrial and supply chains, and the normal functioning of primary-level governments）, we should implement the policy of helping and benefiting enterprises, encourage local governments to carry out targeted assistance, strengthen the policy reserve of benefiting enterprises, and continuously optimize the business environment by deepening reform, so as to stimulate the vitality of market entities. We will do a good job in compiling the “Outline of the National Comprehensive Three-dimensional Transportation Network”, compile the 14th Five-year Plan, focus on pilot projects to build a strong transport country, create a number of innovative and demonstrative pilot brands, make plans to promote the implementation of a number of major projects, and strive to speed up the building of a strong transport country.
The meeting required that we should earnestly study and understand, resolutely implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on food waste control. From the perspective of safeguarding national food security and developing good social practices, we should be fully aware of the significance of food waste control, foster a sense of crisis, be closely combined with the industry itself to ensure the implementation of all tasks and measures.
The meeting called on us to deeply understand the significance of promoting the development of modern international logistics supply chain, to strengthen overall planning and coordination, to fully mobilize the enthusiasm of all departments, to give full play to the functions and policy advantages of all parties to form a strong driving force, and to make greater contributions to maintaining the stability of a global industrial chain and supply chain.
