The 2023 Evaluation meeting of Maritime Science and Technology Award was held by China Institute of Navigation

 On December 15, China Institute of Navigation organized the evaluation meeting of 2023 Maritime Science and Technology Progress Award and Technology Invention Award (Maritime Science and Technology Award hereafter). All the members of the Maritime Science and Technology Award Evaluation Committee of the Society attended the meeting on site.

In 2023, a total of 128 projects were declared for Maritime Science and Technology Award. 112 projects entered the formal evaluation through formal examination. Through formal examination, 112 projects entered the formal evaluation process, and the evaluation committee was divided into four professional groups to carry out professional group evaluation from December 9 to 11, and on December 15, all the members of the evaluation committee voted the final evaluation results in accordance with the evaluation procedure on the basis of serious and strict evaluation: among them, there were 2 special prizes, 15 first prizes and 37 second prizes for the Progress in Maritime Science and Technology Award, 2 first prizes and 1 second prize for the Award for Nautical Technology Invention. There are 2 special prizes, 15 first prizes and 37 second prizes for Nautical Science and Technology Progress Award; 2 first prizes and 1 second prize for Nautical Technology Invention Award. According to the Measures for Scientific and Technological Rewards of China Institute of Navigation, the final evaluation results have been officially announced on the website of CIN.

To further improve the declaration efficiency of the Maritime Science and Technology Award, and at the same time enhance the level of informatization service and management, this year, the Maritime Science and Technology Award Service Information System has upgraded and put on line the modules of “Scientific and Technological Advancement Award” and “Technological Invention Award”, and utilized the platform technology to simplify the declaration procedure for the applicant units. At the same time, the on-line voting system was used, which further enhanced the efficiency of the voting.

In this evaluation meeting, the members participated also discussed the evaluation process and the way of evaluating this year’s awards, and affirmed this year’s evaluation work as well as putting forward constructive comments.

Mr. He Jianzhong, Chairman of China Institute of Navigation, finally emphasized that CIN will widely solicit relevant suggestions from the applicants for the award, continuously enhance the influence of the Maritime Science and Technology Award, increase the promotion of nautical scientific and technological achievements, and better serve the construction of a strong transportation country and a strong maritime country.
