A Delegation Including Yin Hao Visit the China Institute of Navigation (CIN) for Research and Guidance

On the afternoon of December 8, A delegation including Yin Hao, a member of the leading Party members group and Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), visited the China Institute of Navigation (CIN) for research and discussions. Leaders of the institute including Chairman He Jianzhong and heads relevant departments participated in the colloquium. Executive vice-chairman Zhang Baochen introduced the innovative development of CIN in recent years, and emphasized party building, academic exchanges, scientific and technological services, talent cultivation, group standards, scientific and technological journals and related suggestions. Deputy Secretary General Peng Yan made a report about the institute's work on science popularization and related recommendations.

He Jianzhong welcomed the leaders of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) to the institute for research guidance. He said that under the leadership of CAST, the institute has made remarkable achievements in party building, academic exchanges, scientific and technological services, science popularization and construction of think tanks. CIN will further adhere to the idea of "Five Persistence", namely, persisting in party building guidance, demand orientation, three-wheel drive, service orientation, and integrated development, and continuously promote the construction of first-class institute with Chinese characteristics. He expressed hope that the leaders of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) would give strong support and guidance in China Maritime 2024, the International Navigational Congress World Conference, the National Navigational Science Popularization Season, and the China Institute of Navigation council succession.

Yin Hao fully affirmed the achievements made by the Institute in promoting the development of navigational science and technology. On behalf of the Party Group of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), he expressed his appreciation for its contributions. He emphasized that the Institute plays an important role in the "one body, two wings" strategy of CAST, and playing its role as a bridge and bond linking CAST with sci-tech professionals. The Institute should attach great importance to science popularization, make good use of coastal and inland science and technology venues to regularize science popularization education in these venues. He also stated that the institute should actively participate in series of activities such as the National Science Popularization Day, and vigorously promote the selection of science popularization activities, participation in the formulation of science popularization standards, and promoting the construction of international science and technology organizations. The China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) will continue to support the institute's work and the suggestions put forward by the institute will be carefully reviewed.
