The World Conference on Maritime Science and Technology 2023 was held in Jimo District, Qingdao City, Shandong Province from October 17 to October 19. As an important part of the conference, the Maritime science and technology exhibition opened to the public at the same time. A total of 77 science and technology exhibition panels from the hosts, organizers and major participants were collected to display the maritime scientific and technological achievements in recent years in both Chinese and English, including the world's top ten intelligent shipping cases selected for the first time in China.
On the afternoon of October 18, He Jianzhong, president of the China Institute of Navigation, accompanied guests to visit the exhibition, and exchanged ideas with representatives of the exhibitors about the new technology of the development of intelligent shipping, and the achievements of maritime science and technology. The guests included Fu Xuyin, a member of the Leading Party Member Group and vice minister of the Ministry of Transport, Fan Bo, a member of the Leading Party Member Group of the Shandong Provincial government and vice governor of Shandong Province, Ling Wen, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and president of the Shandong Association for Science and Technology, Xu Zuyuan, Maritime Goodwill Ambassador of the International Maritime Organization and former vice minister of the Ministry of Transport and so on.
The science and technology exhibition attracted more than 400 representatives from domestic and foreign government departments, port and shipping enterprises, research institutions, associations, groups and other organizations as well as domestic and foreign experts and scholars. They visited the exhibition and interacted with each other to promote the exchange of marine science and technology.
The conference was co-hosted by China Institute of Navigation, China Centre for International Science and Technology Exchange, Shandong Association for Science and Technology, China COSCO Shipping Co., LTD., and Shandong Port Group Co., LTD.
