In response to the call of the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Central Publicity Department, the CAST and the Ministry of Transport to hold the 2022 National Science and Technology Week, the Institute organized and mobilized maritime science popularization education bases and relevant units to actively carry out activities under the theme of "approaching science together". The activities are rich in content and diverse in form, including competitions, exhibitions, lectures, visits and experiences, and China Communications News Network publicized and reported some in the form of Science Popularization Newsletter.
The visit and experience activities of “shipping” to science and technology and contribute to navigation held by Wuhan University of Technology, the navigation science popularization knowledge competition held by Wuhan Maritime Vocational College, "Qingdao Centennial Maritime Communication Development History Theme Exhibition" held by Qingdao Compass and Navigation Exhibition Hall, the PolarGo" – Xue Long's Science and Technology Journey "online lecture held by the Navigation Branch of Jiangsu Comprehensive Transportation Association and JiangSu Shipping College, the theme activity of "Sailing Around the World and Way Back Home" and "Little Shipbuilders" held by Quanzhou Overseas Traffic History Museum, the activities such as the Century-old Lighthouse Open Day and Popularization of Navigation Aids Knowledge carried out by the Navigation Aids Professional Committee in conjunction with the Dalian Navigation Aids Office have created a good atmosphere of science discussion, science learning and using in the whole society and achieved good results.
Recently, in order to recognize and commend the performance of the Institute during the 2022 National Science and Technology Week, the CIN was awarded the honorary certificate of "2022 National Science and Technology Week and Major Demonstration Activities".
In addition, the two national maritime science popularization education bases named by the Institute, namely, the Maritime Museum of Wuhan University of Technology and the Wuhan Maritime Vocational College were also awarded the honorary certificate of "2022 National Science and Technology Activity Week and Major Demonstration Activities" at the same time.
