On August 23, China Institute of Navigation (CIN) held a conference in Beijing to promote the achievements of the national key research and development program “Key technologies of ship intelligent navigation and control based on ship shore collaboration” (hereinafter referred to as “research achievements”). Lin Qiang, deputy director of the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Transport, and Xu Chun, deputy director of the Maritime Safety Administration of the Ministry of Transport, attended the meeting and delivered their speeches. He Jianzhong, president of the CIN, and Zhang Baochen, vice president of the Standing Committee attended the meeting. The secretary general of the CIN presided over the meeting.
Zhang Baochen, executive vice president, mentioned in the project introduction that ship intelligent navigation is the core traction technology for the development of intelligent shipping. Seizing the development opportunity of intelligent navigation technology is of great significance to the transformation and upgrading of China’s shipping as well as related industries, especially to speed up the construction of a strong maritime, transportation and shipping country.
Shi Shiwu, vice president of the China Waterborne Transport Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport, mentions in his speech that the research results belong to the key special project of “comprehensive transportation and intelligent transportation”, which is led by the China Waterborne Transport Research Institute and jointly undertaken by 21 units, and has achieved five important results.
During the meeting, the participants exchanged experiences on the application of ship intelligent navigation technology in different sectors. Meanwhile, the institute signed contracts on cooperation with Wuhan Chuangxin River and Sea Transportation Co., Ltd., Navigation Brilliance (Qingdao) Technology Co., Ltd., Huayang Maritime Center Co., Ltd. and Zhejiang Zhongquan Energy Technology Co., Ltd.
Zhang Shouguo, executive vice president of China Shipowners’ Association, Jiang Yafeng, director of Technical Guidance Office of Ship Inspection of China Classification Society, Gao Ya, vice president of Shandong Port Group, and Xing Chenghai, secretary of the Party Committee and president of the Board of Directors of Guoneng Shipping Company and other leaders attended the promotion meeting as well.
