The Final Review Meeting Of The Graded Catalogue Of High-quality Sci-tech Periodicals In Navigation Was Held Successfully

On June 29, China Institute of Navigation held the final review meeting of the graded catalogue of high-quality sci-tech periodicals in navigation online. Xu Zuyuan, former vice minister of the Ministry of Transport and chairman of the Evaluation Expert Committee presided over the meeting.

Cao Di, supervisor of China Institute of Navigation, attended the meeting and supervised the assessment and voting process.

In order to thoroughly implement the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on running first-class academic periodicals, implement the Opinions on Deepening Reform and Cultivating World-class Scientific and Technological Periodicals, and promote the construction of a scientific and technological journal system compatible with the world's powerful nation of science and technology, China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) has launched the work of publishing a graded catalogue of high-quality scientific and technological journals. The China Institute of Navigation, as one of the pilot units of the project to publish the graded catalogue of high quality sci-tech journals, is responsible for the publication of the graded catalogue of high quality sci-tech journals in navigation.

The final review meeting considered the modified Implementation Measures for Graded Assessment of High Quality Sci-tech Periodicals in Navigation and the scope of the selected sci-tech periodicals. According to the quantitative and qualitative grades of the initial and the review and in the light of the principle that the ration should no more than 30% of the selected periodicals, all experts of the Committee voted for the Graded Catalogue of High Quality Sci-tech Periodicals in Navigation (subject to publicity). The graded catalogue is divided into three levels: T1, T2 and T3, among which T1 is a marine science and technology journal with or close to the top level at home and abroad, T2 is a well-known marine science and technology journal with a high level at home and abroad, and T3 is a high-quality marine science and technology journal recognized by the academic community at home and abroad. After being publicized, the catalogue will be officially released at the opening ceremony of the 2022 Academic Annual Conference of China Institute of Navigation.

The work of high quality sci-tech periodical graded catalogue in navigation will be conducive to accelerate the development of domestic academic journals in navigation, encourage and guide more outstanding achievements of China's academic journals to release for the first time, and promote the construction of technical periodical system compatible with the world powers of science and technology, so as to help the construction of a country with strong science and technology, maritime strength, and shipping industry as well as the innovation of marine science and technology.
