The 10th Re-election Conference & the First Session of the 10th Committee of Aids to Navigation Committee of CIN held successfully in Tianjin, China

The 10th Re-election Conference & the First Session of the 10th Committee of Aids to Navigation Committee of CIN (Hereinafter referred to as Aids to Navigation Committee of CIN) was held successfully on September 23 in Tianjin. Many leaders attended the meeting, including Li Wenhua, Deputy Director and Sun Bing, secondary  Consultant of the Maritime Safety Administration Liu Shun, Deputy Secretary General of CIN; Chai Jinzhu, Director of the Northern Navigation Service Center; Jiang Jianyu, Deputy Director of Eastern Navigation Service Center; and Yang Youliang, Deputy Director of the Southern Navigation Service Center. In addition, there are 35 leaders or conventioners from the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences, the Waterway and Aids to Navigation management department of CHANGJIANG Waterway Bureau, relevant research institutes, universities and companies attending this conference. In accordance with the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, the conference was held both online and offline, which was presided over by Deputy Director Deng Zhusen of the Northern Navigation Service Center.

At the conference, a welcoming speech was delivered by Director Chai Jinzhu, Deputy Secretary General Liu Shun, and Deputy Director Li Wenhua respectively, entrusted by Mr. Yang Xinzhai. Liu Shun spoke highly of the work of the Aids to Navigation Committee and also gave guidance on its further work. He stressed that the Committee should aim at the goal of the "double first-class" construction of CIN, and strengthen the function of "four services", which are, to serve science and technology workers, to work for innovation-driven development, to improve the scientific quality for all people, and to serve the Party and the government's scientific decision-making, and in this way can we strive to build a brand with industry  characteristics. Deputy Director Li Wenhua sent his congratulations to the smooth convening of the meeting, and fully affirmed its preparatory work. Also, he raised the thoughts of breaking new ground in three areas, including science and technology projects, technical exchanges, and scientific popularization.

The report on the work of the Ninth Committee of Aids to Navigation Committee of CIN  of Aids to Navigation, as well as its financial statement and the Regulations on the Work of the Aids to Navigation Committee of CIN were all got deliberation and approval. At this conference, we have made a review of work achievements, analyzed the current situation, and clarified the overall goals and considerations for the 14th Five-Year Plan period. Through democratic election, the candidates for the positions of Director, Vice Director, Secretary General and Deputy Secretary General for the next Specialty Committee have been determined. Deng Zhusen, Deputy Director of Northern Navigation Service Center, who was newly elected as Chairman of the Committee, made a speech. He said the Committee will develop to seek innovation and breakthroughs, make precise efforts to strengthen ourselves, promote growth , and build good  reputatiion, and strive to take on a new dimension in the work. Participants also held in-depth discussions on how to better play the organizational role in academy and how to better implement its annual work in the new era, actively offering advices and suggestions for the development of the Aids to Navigation Committee of CIN . At the end of the meeting, Director of Northern Navigation Service Center Chai Jinzhu made a concluding speech. He said Northern Navigation Service Center has great honor to be the supporting unit of Aids to Navigation Committee of CIN , as well as great responsibilities. In the future, under the correct leadership of China MSA  and CIN, we will take our responsibilities to give full support to the work of Aids to Navigation Committee of CIN, providing firm protection for its development.

The meeting successfully completed all the agendas and achieved our expectations. In the future, the Committee will meet new challenges , give full play of its role  to make greater contributions to the construction of the "double first-class" goal of CIN and the high quality development of maritime security.
