Liu Xiaoming, ice Minister of Transport, Inspected work in CIN

On the morning of December 25th, 2020, Liu Xiaoming, Vice Minister of Transport , conducted research in China Institute of Navigation (CIN) with his entourage. He Jianzhong, chairman of CIN, presided over the research symposium, and Zhang Baochen, Executive Vice Chairman of CIN, reported on the work of CIN in 2020, in such aspects as Party building, epidemic response, academic exchange, science and technology service, science popularization, membership service and the “Double First-Class” Initiative, and the ideas and suggestions on CIN’ work for the next step.

Liu expressed full acknowledgment of the achievements made by CIN in promoting the development of navigation science and technology, and expressed his gratitude to CIN for its contribution on behalf of the leading Party members’ group of MOT. He said that CIN had played an important role in supporting the high-quality development of the maritime industry by emphasizing it must keep consistence with the Party Central Committee, adhering to the Party’s political guidance, building a strong value-oriented organizational front for navigation science and technology workers, that CIN greatly improved the service ability and level of navigation science and technology and played an active role in international exchanges and cooperation, and that it had also vigorously popularized maritime science knowledge and carried forward maritime culture, embodying the spirit of professionalism, pragmatism and dedication.

Liu pointed out MOT will continue to support the work of CIN and carefully study their proposals accordingly. 

As He Jianzhong put it, CIN will conscientiously implement the guiding principles of the 5th Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the Central Economic Work Conference; it will seriously carry out relevant work and give full play to its advantages in platform, science and technology and think tank to make contribution to accelerating the construction of a strong power in transportation, science and technology, shipping, and maritime rights and interests, in accordance with the arrangement of the National Transport Work Conference and the task requirements put forward by Liu from this research.
