2020 Theoretical Training Course for Magnetic Compass Adjustment Personnel Opened

On October 16, the opening ceremony of 2020 theoretical training course for magnetic compass adjustment personnel sponsored by China Institute of Navigation (CIN) and undertaken by Shanghai Institute of Navigation was held in the training center of Shanghai CCCC Navigation Bureau. The opening ceremony was presided over by Jiang Chao, deputy secretary general of Shanghai Institute of Navigation. Wang Hui, director of the training center of Shanghai CCCC Navigation Bureau, Chen duo, professor of Dalian Maritime University, Liu Shun, deputy secretary general of CIN, Qu Xiao, deputy director of Sci-tech Service Department and 45 trainees from nine Technical Service Departments of magnetic compass attended the opening ceremony.

Qu Xiao explained the training organization, pandemic prevention and control, training discipline and learning requirements to the trainees. Liu Shun expressed heartfelt thanks to China Maritime Safety Administration, Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration, China Maritime Service Center, training center of Shanghai CCCC Navigation Bureau, Shanghai Institute of Navigation for supporting and assisting the training, and introduced the main work of CIN under the leadership of President He Jianzhong in the goal of “Double First Class” initiative. At the same time, he hoped that the trainees would cherish the learning opportunities in the special period of pandemic prevention and control, and encouraged them to improve the efficiency of classroom learning, prepare carefully, and successfully complete the training course and examination of magnetic compass adjustment personnel.
