From July 2 to 3, 2026, Liu Shun, Secretary-General for China Institute of Navigation, led the delegation to visit Guangzhou to conduct research and exchange activities at organizations including the South China Sea Navigation Guarantee Center of the Ministry of Transport, the Guangzhou Salvage Bureau of the Ministry of Transport, and CCCC Guangzhou Dredging Co., Ltd.
In the morning of July 2, Secretary-General Liu Shun and the delegation visited the South China Sea Navigation Guarantee Center of the Ministry of Transport, where they delivered a special lecture titled "Key Points Analysis of Maritime Science and Technology Innovation" to the center's key business personnel. The lecture primarily introduced the Institute's evaluation of navigation science and technology achievements, award nominations, and group standards. After the meeting, they visited the simulation quality inspection platform for new maritime digital service products, gaining an in-depth understanding of the research and development, testing, and application of simulation quality inspection technologies for new digital maritime guarantee products.
In the afternoon, Secretary-General Liu Shun and the delegation visited Guangzhou Salvage Bureau of the Ministry of Transport for a discussion and exchange. Li Xiuyou, Deputy Director of Guangzhou Salvage Bureau, along with heads of scientific research and business technology departments, attended the meeting. Both sides first introduced their respective basic situations and key tasks, and subsequently held discussions on topics such as the application for science and technology awards, industry-university-research collaborative innovation, and the support of young talent.
In the morning of July 3, Secretary-General Liu Shun and his delegation visited CCCC Guangzhou Dredging Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as CCCC GDC) and carried out the discussion and exchange. Chen Lin, Chief Engineer of CCCC GDC, along with heads of technical and scientific research management departments, attended the meeting. At the meeting, CCCC GDC introduced the research, development, application, and related technical details of "Junguang," Asia's largest trailing suction hopper dredger. Both sides held in-depth discussions on topics including navigation science and technology achievement evaluation, digital-intelligent services, the joint construction of think tanks, and cooperative journal development.
This research tour covered core backbone units in South China's maritime guarantee, emergency salvage, and dredging sectors, further strengthening communication and ties between the Institute and industry units in South China.
