On the afternoon of March 3, 2026, Liu Shun, Secretary-General of the China Institute of Navigation(CIN), along with Deputy Secretaries-General Liu Ying and Yue Peng, visited the Planning and Research Institute of the Ministry of Transport (hereinafter referred to as “PRI”) for an exchange meeting. The delegation met with Liu Xin, President of PRI, and participated in a discussion attended by Vice President Liu Shengli, Director Du Jiangtao of the Scientific Research Development Department, Director Feng Yun of the Water Transport Institute, Deputy Director Tian Jia of the Scientific Research Development Department, and Chief Researcher Li Yue of the Environmental Institute.

During the meeting, Secretary-General Liu Shun introduced CIN’s recent progress and achievements in scientific and technological services, academic exchanges, think tank development, and academic journals, and reviewed the highlights of PRI’s longstanding participation in and support for CIN’s work. He noted that PRI has achieved remarkable results in areas such as science and technology award applications, talent cultivation, and standard formulation, providing strong support for CIN’s development. He expressed the hope that both sides would further deepen cooperation to jointly serve the high-quality development of the industry.

Vice President Liu Shengli extended his gratitude to the China Institute of Navigation for its long-standing support and introduced the achievements of the Ministry of Transport Planning and Research Institute in strategic research, technological breakthroughs, and the commercialization of research findings. He emphasized that the Institute places great importance on its collaboration with the Institute and is willing to continue leveraging its strengths to actively participate in the Institute's activities, jointly advancing the progress of maritime technology.
Both parties reached a consensus on deepening cooperation and agreed to establish a regular communication mechanism in the future. They will enhance mutual cooperation in areas such as think tank advisory services and the development of rules and regulations, while also collaborating on the promotion of scientific and technological achievements, talent cultivation, and standard formulation to jointly provide strong support for the high-quality development of the industry. This symposium laid a solid foundation for both parties to further integrate resources and engage in collaborative innovation.
