On October 26, the 2018 annual conference of Inland Ship Navigation Committee of CIN and the academic seminar were held in Chongqing, hosted by Inland Ship Navigation Committee of CIN and Wuhan Institute of Navigation and jointly sponsored by Chongqing Jiaotong University, Changjiang Chongqing Shipping Engineering Survey and Design Institute. Its theme is “Guiding Technology and Navigation Safety in Inland Ship Navigation”. Many participants attended the seminar, including Qiu Jianhua, Director of Chongqing Maritime Safety Administration; Liu Jingxian, Committee Director of Inland Ship Navigation Committee of CIN; Guo Guoping, Executive Vice Committee Director of Inland Ship Navigation Committee of CIN and Vice Committee Directors Cai Qiquan, Zheng Yueliang,etc.Other more than 50 committee member and representatives also attend the the meeting, who came from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Chongqing, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hubei, Anhui, etc.
Associate Professor Zhang Jing, General Secretary of Inland Ship Navigation Committee of CIN, presided over the opening ceremony. Director Qiu Jianhua from Chongqing Maritime Safety Administration delivered a welcome speech. He extended his warm congratulations. On behalf of the sponsors, Guo Yihao, Dean of Changjiang Chongqing Shipping Engineering Survey and Design Institute and Fan Xiaobiao, Vice President of Engineering and Technology Research Institute of Chongqing Jiaotong University delivered a speech respectively.
On behalf of the Inland Ship Navigation Committee of CIN, Committee Director Liu Jingxian delivered a speech to extend his warm welcome to all the leaders, members and experts and sent his gratitude to the participants for their continuous concern and support to the committee. Meanwhile, he reported the work in 2018 and put forward some suggestions on the next year’s work. In the end, he indicated that, as the affiliated units of Inland Ship Navigation Committee of CIN, Wuhan University of Technology will continue to give support to the work of Inland Ship Navigation Committee of CIN and provide duly guarantee.
Special report was presided over by Shen Xinmin, Deputy Secretary-General of Wuhan Institute of Navigation. Director Guo Tao, the professor-level senior engineer from Changjiang River Administration of Navigational Affairs and Channel Navigation Office of Changjiang Maritime Safety Administration, delivered a keynote speech on “ The Preliminary Study and Research on New Water Transport Channels of the Three Gorges”. Yan Songyin, Director of Qinzhou Maritime Safety Administration, delivered keynote speech on “ China-ASEAN Maritime Cooperation”. Tang Wenjun, a senior engineer of Wuhan Changjiang Ship Design Institute Co., Ltd., delivered a keynote speech on “ Present Status and Prospect of the Application of Ship Pure Battery Power”. Associate professor Ma Yong, the top-notch talent of Wuhan University of Technology, delivered a keynote speech on “ The Key Technology Research on Unmanned Ships and Intelligent Navigation in Yangtze River”. Prof. Li Yong, Associate Dean of China Administrative Cadre Institute of COSCO Shipping Group, delivered a keynote speech on “Leadership and Captain's Leadership”. All these lectures received warm welcome from the participating members and representatives.
In this conference, a five-member expert review panel for excellent thesis was established. Moreover, outstanding papers were appraised and elected, including 3 second prizes and 3 third prizes.
