On October 27, the 2017 Annual Conference and Academic Seminar of Inland Ship Navigation Committee of CIN, themed with “Improving Navigatin and Pilotage Technology for Navigation Safety” were held in Huatian Hotel, Wuhan. More than 50 participants attended the seminar, including Gu Weiguo, Deputy Secretary General of CIN; Zhu Ruming, Deputy Director of Changjiang River Administration of Navigational Affairs; Li Jiang ,Deputy Director of Changjiang Maritime Safety Administration；Liu Zuyuan, Vice President of Wuhan University of Technology; Liu Jingxian, Executive Vice Committee Director of Professional Committee;Vice Committee Directors Cai Qiquan, Fang Jianhua, Xu Dafu, Zheng Yueliang, etc. . As well as other committeemen and representatives, who came from Beijing, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Chongqing, Guangdong, Guangxi, Hubei, etc..
In the morning, General Secretary Guo Guoping officiated at the opening ceremony. Vice Committee Director Xu Dafu from Hubei Port and Shipping Administration delivered the opening remarks. Liu Zuyuan, Vice-President of Wuhan University of Technology, delivered a speech to extend his warm welcome to all the leaders, members and experts participating for their arrivals and guidance, and express his affirmation of the achievements of the institute in the past year. Moreover, he indicated that, as the affiliated units of CIN, Wuhan University of Technology will continue to give support to the work of CIN and provide necessary support. Zhu Ruming, Deputy Director of Changjiang River Administration of Navigational Affairs, delivered a speech expressing his affirmation of the cooperation with the Inland Ship Navigation Committee in recent years and hoped to deepen the cooperation and exchanges of scientific research in the future. Gu Weiguo, Deputy Secretary General of CIN, extended congratulations to the successful opening on behalf of the CIN, and circulated a notice of the personnel changes of Inland Ship Navigation Committee. Liu Jingxian, Vice Committee Director of the Standing Committee, reported the work of CIN in 2017 during the meeting.
Special report was presided over by Fang Jianhua, the Vice Commander of Construction Headquarter for Deepwater Fairway Project of the Yangtze River below Nanjing city and the Executive Vice Committee Director of Inland Ship Navigation Committee. Li Jiang, Deputy Director of Changjiang Maritime Safety Administration, delivered a keynote speech on “To Energetically Carry out the Project of Safe Yangtze Riverand Fully Promote the Strategy of Building the First-class Bureau. Director Cheng Xuesa from Yangtze River Pilotage Center, delivered a keynote speech on “To Innovate Pilotage Service on the Supply Side for the Green Development of Shipping in the Yangtze River." Professor Wen Yuanqiao from School of Navigation of Wuhan University of Technology, delivered a keynote speech on "Interconnecting Rivers for Inland Navigation". All these lectures received warm welcome from the participating members and representatives.
In this meeting, a five-member expert panel for excellent thesis evaluation was established. What’s more, in this academic annual conference, where some award-winning authors attended for paper discussion, 1 paper got the first prize, 3 papers the second prize and 5 papers the third prize.
