Asia Navigation Conference 2019 Held in Busan, South Korea

On November 21, 2019, Asia Navigation Conference 2019(ANC), cohosted by the China Institute of Navigation(CIN), Korean Institute of Navigation and Port Research(KINPR) and Japan Institute of Navigation(JIN), was inaugurated in Busan, South Korea. ANC is a regional academic exchange activity cosponsored by CIN, KINPR and JIN, whih has been successfully held 18 sessions since 2002.

The theme of this year’s session was ‘Hyper Connectivity of Ports and Integrated Navigation’. Nearly 100 experts and scholars from China, South Korea, Japan, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Indonesia, Mongolia and other countries attended the Conference. CIN had more than 30 domestic authors with 23 papers submitted. Entrusted by CIN Chairman Huang Youfang, Zhuo Yongqiang, Professor of Shanghai Maritime University, led the team and delivered a speech on behalf of Chairman Huang at the opening ceremony.

On October 21 to 22, the Conference held group exchanges. More than 70 papers recommended by CIN, KINPR and JIN were exchanged, and the expert group selected 6 papers as award-winning papers. Among them, the paper ‘NoSQL-Based Statistical Application of Maritime Traffic Flow Characteristics’ by Liu Hongze and Liu Zhengjiang of Dalian Maritime University was rated as the Excellent Paper, and the paper ‘Research on Data Security Communication and Encryption Algorithm for Marine Ships’ by Xu Shipeng, Lin Bin, Bai Jun and so on, was awarded the Distinguished Paper.

Next ANC would be held on CIN’s turn. CIN would work with Tianjin Research Institute for Water Transport Engineering, M.O.T. to jointly organize this activity in Tianjin Binhai New Aera from October 28 to 30, 2020. A promotional video for the next conference was displayed at the closing ceremonywhile warm invitation was extended to participants.
