CIN- Chang Yung-fa Financial Aid Granting Ceremony was Held in Shanghai Maritime University

CIN- Chang Yung-fa Financial Aid Granting Ceremony for the 2015-2016 school year was grandly held in Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) on Nov. 23rd. Before the ceremony, Huang Youfang, Chairman of CIN and President of SMU, and other leaders met with a number of representatives who would attend the ceremony, including Ms. Zhong Demei, CEO of Chang Yung-fa Foundation of Consortium Corporation in Taiwan, and Mr. Lin Peiqiao, Deputy General Manager of Evergreen Marine Corp.(Taipei) Ltd. Mr. Xu Zuyuan, former Chairman of CIN, Ambassador of IMO and the initiator of this Grants,Yu Shicheng, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee, Xu Jing, Director Assistant and other delegates were present at the ceremony. Mr. Wang Haiwei, Deputy Seretary of the Party Committee and Vice President of SMU presided over this ceremony.  
      Both Mr. Huang Youfang and Ms. Zhong Demei expressed their gratitude to the relevant parties who supported the grants, offered congratulations and raised earnest hope to those rewarded students. Yu Shicheng, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee, announced the list of the sponsored students.  
      After verification, 134 financially distressed but outstanding students were granted the sponsorship for 2015-2016 school year. Among them, 10 students are from Shanghai Maritime University and 4 from Shanghai Maritime Vocational and Technical College. Mr. Xu Zuyuan and Mr. Lin Peiqiao issued certificates for the recipients and encouraged them to study hard without feeling any burden of economic pressure so as to become prospects in the shipping industry. Student representative Xu Dezhi made a speech, in which he said that he would study hard to equip himself with expertise to serve the shipping industry after graduation. After that, Mr. Chen Weiqun, Deputy Manager of Evergreen Marine Corp., Captain Tian Benyuan, Manager of Shenzhen Everlasting Co. Shanghai Branch and its Deputy Manager, Mr. Zeng Yanxun shared theme reports on career experience at the ceremony. Besides, they interacted with students who were present, creating active atmosphere with enthusiastic responses. 
     “CIN- Chang Yung-fa Financial Aid” was set up in 2014. Chang Yung-fa Foundation funds 500,000 RMB each year to sponsor those outstanding students in the 20 maritime institutions in mainland China who are from underprivileged families to finish their studies. Until now, 414 students have received the sponsorship.
